Parenting Among Christian Immigrants in the United States by Michael O. Akintayo Ph.D

Parenting Among Christian Immigrants in the United States informs its readers that the primary responsibility of parents, guardians, and other adults is to take care and nurture their children to become productive and responsible citizens especially in a world full of corruption, immorality, and indiscipline. It encourages biblical principles to be a model in raising children and young adults among immigrant Christians.

This book also addresses some of the concerns and struggles of immigrant parents as they raise their children and young adults in the United States. It explores different parenting beliefs among the immigrant population and provides coping strategies that can assist these parents in parenting their children and young adults effectively.

Rich with details, this book emphasizes religion as an important source of strength and support among immigrant parents while raising their young adults and provide better ways that human services practitioners can work with them.

“PARENTING AMONG CHRISTIAN IMMIGRANTS IN THE UNITED STATES”

I found “PARENTING AMONG CHRISTIAN IMMIGRANTS IN THE UNITED STATES”,  very interesting, highly informative, partly historical, and is full of knowledge, as it dealt practically with most of all the societal ills one finds in raising children anywhere, but which are especially very rampant and prevalent in this environment we live, in the United States.  I especially enjoyed the fact that the book is based on Christian Religious teachings which I have no doubt in my mind that it will be a source of spiritual rebirth in turning the lives of our young children around for better if they could be encouraged to read the it.  The book is full of information that could be helpful not only to our teenagers and young adults, but also to the grown up adults, particularly young parents, who will need the encouragement necessary to care for, raising and nurturing their children in a proper way,  by bringing them up to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.  The knowledge gained from this book will help the readers to grow spiritually, become responsible citizens and will help them avoid criminal intentions that may eventually destroy their lives.

I do recommend that this book, “PARENTING AMONG CHRISTIAN IMMIGRANTS IN THE UNITED STATES”,  should be used by a variety of populations and Social Science Professionals, especially those dealing in Human Social Services, Bible Class teachings in Churches, Marriage Counselors, and even in schools, and it will also be useful and helpful to anyone that is thirsty of knowledge.

Again, congratulations.

"Parenting Among Christian Immigrants in the United States is an excellent piece. It is informative, enlightening and entertaining. A great addition to the growing literature on the immigrant experience in the United States. It is highly recommended not only to Christians but people from other faiths as well.
